(Open Letter to the Minister of Police -- slightly edited)

2 November 2015

Dear Mr. Woodhouse

I have successfully complained about the Feminist indoctrination of judges , because this was biasing judges against men. The same considerations apply to the Police. In a democracy, which New Zealand is supposed to be, the entire justice system should be free of political bias against any sector of society, such as men.

I have complained three times to the New Zealand Police about being assaulted by females, and they have refused to believe me each time. This is not a coincidence, but is a systematic bias in the Police, who oppress men to the benefit of women, who consequently get away with crimes, to the detriment of men.

I draw your attention to the Ministry of Justice report “Sentencing In New Zealand: a statistical analysis”, which proves that gender is the most significant factor determining how harshly the legal system deals with people -- with men being treated worse than women.

I also draw your attention to Professor Martin Fiebert’s annotated bibliography of Domestic Violence research, which “examines 286 scholarly investigations: 221 empirical studies and 65 reviews and/or analyses, which demonstrate that women are as physically aggressive, or more aggressive, than men in their relationships with their spouses or male partners. The aggregate sample size in the reviewed studies exceeds 371,600.” Some of these studies were carried out in New Zealand.

I would like to make the following points:

  1. Domestic Violence was made into a social and political issue by the Feminists, who have almost only interviewed women who declared themselves to be victims and men who declared themselves to be perpetrators. See Robert Sheaffer’s review of the book, “Battered Women” .

  2. The Feminists have been fighting tooth-and-nail to promote Domestic Violence as a “Women’s Issue” about what men do to women, but they have never proved statistically that this is empirically the case.

  3. As reported in my book, “Sex, Lies & Feminism”, I once interviewed the Family Violence Prevention Coordinator at Police national headquarters. When I mentioned Professor Fiebert’s annotated bibliography, he said that you can't just count "hits" in that way, and that, in one case referred to in a study, the woman had kicked the man because he was holding her by the throat. The implication was, of course, that she was acting in self-defence. That Police official treated that point as if it was convincing evidence which refuted all those studies cited by Professor Fiebert. In other words, he was implying that, in all or most cases where women hit men, they are acting in self-defence. However, he did not mention any evidence of this, and, in fact, Professor Fiebert’s bibliography cites studies such as Amendt, G. (2008), which reports that “1/3 of men reported episodes of physical violence during the divorce process and 2/3 of these were initiated by ex-partners.” The above incident shows that the Police are biased against men.

  4. In a discussion with Police at a police station recently, I accused the Police of being brainwashed with Feminist propaganda. One of the more thoughtful of the Police officers responded by referring vaguely to “some studies”. He did not name the studies or the authors, or say what they said, which indicates the intellectual incompetence of the police, who are obviously not hired for their brains, but primarily for their brawn (except in the case of females, who are hired for being female). It is grossly naïve and intellectually incompetent to assume, as the Police appear to do, that fair, democratic outcomes can be achieved by focussing on particular, Feminist studies and ignoring ones that have politically inconvenient results.

  5. I once put up a webpage which included a scan of a Police advertisement featuring a female Police officer and attacking fathers. This not only shows that the Police are anti-male, but that female Police officers use their taxpayer-funded positions to attack men. I then received an email from someone purporting to be a police officer, who complained that my webpage was making their work difficult, and asking me to take it down. The email stated that the advertisement which I complained about in that webpage was the work of Police Headquarters. I did not take it down. It is hard to find incontrovertible evidence of Establishment anti-male bias, which is obviously very common, so the last thing I want to do is suppress it.

  6. Policewomen are mostly physically incompetent, because they have to meet lower physical standards in order to enter the Police than men do. There is no profession which men are allowed to enter at lower standards than women. At the same time, the unions do nothing about this, yet pursue a so-called “Pay Equity” agenda, which amounts to hypocrisy and cherry-picking. Policemen have to either put up with having to cover for physically incompetent female colleagues or leave the Police force. It is obvious that unknown numbers of honest, pro-male policemen would have felt compelled to leave the Police, under the pressure of this sexist double-standard, to be replaced by dishonest officers who are capable of working in a hypocritical environment.

  7. The Police approach to the White Ribbon Campaign shows that they engage in double-think and lies. The Police webpage http://www.police.govt.nz/news/release/white-ribbon-day talks as if the White Ribbon Campaign is about family violence in general, whereas the page http://www.police.govt.nz/news/featured/white-ribbon-day makes clear the well-known fact that it is just about male violence against women. In other words, the Police pretend that they are against all family violence, whereas the actually approach every possible family violence situation with the mindset that it involves male violence against women.

  8. The Police charge men with Assault on a Female – section 194 of the Crimes Act, which carries a higher maximum penalty than Common Assault, and there is no offence called “Assault on a Male”. If the Police were unbiased, they would ignore this clearly sexist, discriminatory section and refuse to use it.

  9. The Police work closely with Women’s Refuge, which is a sexist lobby group, which acts as if female violence against men either did not exist or did not matter. I have long been the main New Zealand Men’s Rights advocate on the issue of Domestic Violence, but the Police have always treated me as the enemy, rather than seeking to work with me.

Police officers working in the Police culture described above are bound to be anti-male or to leave the police. I therefore request that the Government overhaul police culture, so as to make it fair to men. This would require:

  1. The replacement of Police National Headquarters and Police Training College staff who only consider the findings of Feminist research with people who are willing to consider ALL of the relevant scientific literature;

  2. The abolition of Police Safety Orders, because they require the intellectually incompetent Police to do in a brief space of time what trained Psychologists would take a lengthy period of time to do – i.e. assess a complicated interpersonal situation.

  3. Requiring female applicants and male applicants to the Police to meet exactly the same standards, and removing from their positions any female police officers who entered the police on the basis of results that were inferior to the lowest possible results for male applicants.

  4. The abolition of Police support for the White Ribbon Campaign;

  5. The abolition of section 194 of the Crimes Act;

  6. Requiring the Police to work with Men’s Rights groups on the same basis as they work with groups such as Women’s Refuge.

Yours sincerely,

Peter D. Zohrab
