Psychoanalysing the Minister

(Open Letter to the Minister of Justice)
Dear Mr. Little,
We learn from the article "Labour
leader Andrew Little's cancer scare" that your wife had to
keep nagging you before you would get your PSA (prostate-specific antigens)
tested, in view of your symptoms of possible prostate problems. Sure
enough, you turned out to have prostate cancer. Needless to say, that
women's magazine (New Zealand Women's Weekly) defined "nagging"
as when an "exasperated but determined woman
is constantly on at her partner about something or other." In other
words, it defined it from the woman's point of view, ignoring the male
point of view (as the media always do) that nagging is a form of emotional
abuse.
When you were National Secretary of the Engineers' Union (whose
members were presumably mainly male), I wrote to you and asked you
to take an interest in Men's Issues, but your reply was negative....
You have made a big issue of reentering
the Pike River Mine, and I agree with you on that. However, most
of the beneficiaries of the reentry will be female, since it won't
do the dead men any good to be brought out of the mine. If you had
done your job properly in the union movement, you might have been
able to reduce the occupational death and injury rate, and those men
might still be alive. The vast majority of workplace deaths are male
deaths -- yet it took a female unionist,
Helen Kelly, to make a big issue of workplace safety -- and even
that was after the Pike River tragedy!

It looks as if you (at that time, at least) did not care much about
your own life and well-being. It also looks as if you extrapolated that
to men in general. It seems to me that you thought that your only function
was to help women and children and that you still
think that the only function of men in politics is to serve women and
children! This chivalry has been
a great help to Feminists. The so-called "Patriarchy" was
focused on helping women and children and the Feminists came along and
thought, "Wow! We can use that, because all we care about is women
and children, too!" So the Feminists have built on male chivalry,
such as yours. You even have an Associate Minister of Justice, Jan Logie,
who is on record as saying that "Human
Rights" means "the safety of victims and children –
particularly women and children."
OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST
Since your Associate Minister thinks that only women and children
have Human Rights, could you please tell me, under the Official Information
Act, what the statutory legal basis is for your statement (in your
letter dated 11 Feb 2020) that it is a woman's Human Right to kill
any living being that is inside her body?

Minister.

I mistakenly referred to Jan Logie as being an Associate Minister,
when in fact she is (for the moment, at least) just the Parliamentary
Under-Secretary to the Minister of Justice (Domestic and Sexual Violence
Issues).
